DWELLING
Dwelling
Created by Peter Power and Leon Butler
Dwelling explores the outskirts of cultural isolation , the dispersal of self across the multimedial and with it our digital death, transformation and rebirth.
In a chaotic climate of dissolution, how can we grieve things that are still leaving?
Taking place in the fragments of a home, Dwelling offers an opportunity to avatar our individual experiences of disconnection and loss through the poetic portal of the everyday.
Performed by Robyn Byrne and Rosie Stebbing, Dwelling asks us to consider the communal catalyst of the modern myth and to trust that catharsis resides at the far side of connection.
Not to just others, but also to ourselves.
And that there can be an end to loneliness.
Dwelling premiered at Project Arts Centre as part of Beta Festival 2023.
Supported by Project Arts Centre and Carlow Arts Festival and funded by the Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon.
